Victory Poem
Written by Anonym

Careful footsteps,
Quiet whispers,
Heavy hearts still carry a cross.
Shadows of yesterday
Haunt empty streets,
And renew the sting of loss.
But ahead lies a mystery,
An eerie glow precedes the dawn.
Here among the bones of men
There is standing only One.
Soldiers’ weapons fall useless,
Knees suddenly grow too weak,
And grief becomes wonderment,
As the King begins to speak:
‘What no mind could imagine
Your eyes now clearly see
Death, death is no longer;
For I have won the victory!’
